Food & Water Bowls
How often do you clean your pet’s food and water bowls? Food and water bowls should be routinely cleaned, but springtime is a good time to create a new good habit. Food and water bowls can be infested with germs due to constant eating and dribbling from your pet. The best and safest way to clean your pet’s bowls is by using hot water and vinegar. If they are dishwasher safe, you can always throw them in the dishwasher as well.
Pet Toys
Pet toys are an overlooked pet item for cleaning. Pet toys can be floating all over your house, which is an easy way for germs to travel throughout. Pet toys are often damp and chewed up by your pet. It is a good practice to keep your home and pet healthy by cleaning the pet toys. Pet toys can be soaked in warm water and mild dish soap. Rubber toys can be thrown in the dishwasher as well.
Bedding & Blankets
A pet has its own relaxing hang out in a home. Usually, their hangout has a pet bed, blankets, and pillows even. Grime and bacteria often build up in the areas where your pet sleeps. It is important to vacuum off their bed. Take the bedding and wash it with hot water and mild laundry detergent. If it is so worn and dirty beyond repair, I am sure your pet would appreciate a new one!
Collars
Pet owners will never forget to wash their pet to make sure their coat is clean and healthy. A pet collar can become pretty gross over time from sweat buildup and bacteria from doing everyday pet activities. Remove your pet’s collar routinely and soak it with water and pet shampoo. Make sure the collar is completely dry before placing it back on your pet.
